Secondupdate.com – Hollywood actor Timothée Chalamet reportedly underwent months of ping pong training to prepare for his role in the upcoming film titled "Marty Supreme."
In this film directed by Josh Safdie, Timothée plays the role of Marty Reisman, a legendary professional ping pong player. Reisman himself was known as a former street hustler in Manhattan who later went on to win 22 ping pong titles between 1946 and 2002.
According to cinematographer Darius Khondji, Timothée took the role very seriously. He wanted to look like a real professional ping pong player once filming began.
"He (Chalamet) wanted to become like a real ping pong player when the shoot started," said Khondji.
Khondji also revealed that audiences will see a whole new side of Timothée Chalamet, very different from his previous romantic roles.
Set in the 1950s, "Marty Supreme" not only features well-known actors but also includes around 140 non-actors, such as renowned artist Abel Ferrara, magician Penn Jillette from the duo Penn & Teller, and French high-wire artist Philippe Petit, known for walking between the World Trade Center’s Twin Towers.
