Secondupdate.com – Dragon Ball continues to evolve, introducing a more diverse cast of characters compared to its early versions in the 1980s.
However, one thing has always intrigued fans—Dragon Ball rarely reveals detailed information about its characters, such as their ages or hobbies.
Even so, Goku’s age is relatively easy to track, as is Vegeta’s. However, in a 1990 interview, a debate arose among fans regarding Vegeta’s age, with some claiming he was younger than Goku.
In Dragon Ball Z, however, Vegeta is consistently portrayed as older and stronger than Goku.
In Dragon Ball, Vegeta’s exact age is never explicitly stated. The original manga does not directly mention how old he is, and in Dragon Ball Z, Vegeta is only shown as a child when Goku is still a baby.
One clue about Vegeta’s age appears in the film Bardock: The Father of Goku, where Kid Vegeta is shown to be very young. Based on this, many fans assume that Vegeta is about 4 to 6 years older than Goku.
Vegeta was not the strongest Saiyan from birth, but he displayed extraordinary talent from a young age. He could even defeat Saibamen as a child and received direct training from his father, King Vegeta.
On the other hand, Goku also trained from infancy under Grandpa Gohan. However, Vegeta’s battle-filled life made him a more formidable fighter from a young age.
Whether intentional or not, Vegeta’s character development from Dragon Ball Z to Dragon Ball Super stands as one of Akira Toriyama’s greatest achievements.
Once known only as Goku’s rival, Vegeta has evolved into a more complex character with strong motivations.
What do you think? Is Vegeta more interesting than Goku?
