Secondupdate.com – Yoo Ah In has been granted probation after receiving a suspended sentence related to his drug case. This decision was announced shortly after the confirmation of the release of his latest film, The Match.
However, despite being legally cleared, Yoo Ah In will not participate in any promotional activities for The Match. In fact, many of his scenes in the film’s trailer, which revolves around the game of baduk, have been removed.

The film’s distributor, BY4M Studio, has also confirmed that Yoo Ah In will not be invited to any promotional events. He will not attend screenings, press conferences, or media interviews.
"He will not take part in any promotional activities, including press screenings, press conferences, or interviews," stated BY4M Studio, as quoted by Korea Times.
The Match Synopsis
The Match tells the story of a mentor-student relationship that evolves into a rivalry in the world of baduk. It is inspired by the real-life story of two South Korean baduk legends, Cho Hun Hyun and Lee Chang Ho.
The film focuses on Cho Hun Hyun’s struggle to reclaim his position as the best baduk player after being defeated by his own protégé, Lee Chang Ho. Determined to make a comeback, he changes his lifestyle, quits smoking, exercises regularly, and works hard to win competitions again.
The bond between Cho Hun Hyun and Lee Chang Ho is truly special. After winning the world baduk championship, Cho Hun Hyun recognized Lee Chang Ho’s immense talent and took him in as a student in 1984. From that moment on, they lived together and trained daily. To this day, Lee Chang Ho remains Cho Hun Hyun’s only protégé.
In this film, Lee Byung Hun plays Cho Hun Hyun, while Yoo Ah In portrays Lee Chang Ho. Directed by Kim Hyung Ju, The Match is set to premiere in South Korean theaters on March 26, 2025.
