Secondupdate.com – PLAVE has just made history in the Korean music industry! They have officially become the first virtual idol group to sell over 1 million album copies.

On February 3 at 6 PM KST, PLAVE released their latest mini album, Caligo Pt.1, featuring the title track Dash. According to data from Hanteo Chart, the album sold 1,038,308 copies within its first week, from February 3 to February 9.

This figure is nearly double their previous record, set by their mini album ASTERUM: 134-1, which sold 569,289 copies last year.

Additionally, all the songs from Caligo Pt.1 made it onto the Melon Top 100, proving that their music quality can compete with human idols.

With this achievement, PLAVE has now become the first virtual group to sell over 1 million copies in the first week. As the virtual idol trend continues to grow in Korea, it will be interesting to see if any other groups can surpass them in the future.

For those unfamiliar, PLAVE is a virtual idol group consisting of five members: Yejun, Noah, Bamby, Eunho, and Hamin. They debuted in March 2023 under VLAST and quickly gained attention with their unique concept as AI-based idols.

Despite being virtual, PLAVE is as active as any other idol group. They sing, perform on stage, and even create their own content. Their songs consistently rank on music charts, and their fanbase, known as Planie, continues to grow.
