Secondupdate.com – Actress Millie Bobby Brown shared her story about the challenges she faced as a young star in a recent interview with Vanity Fair published on Wednesday (Feb 12).
Millie, now 20 years old, rose to fame when she played Eleven in the Netflix series Stranger Things at the age of 11. Because she had been busy filming from a young age, she felt that her social skills did not develop properly.
"I didn’t have many friends because of who I am," Brown said, as quoted by The Hollywood Reporter on Wednesday (Feb 12).
Since she didn’t attend school like other children, Millie struggled to socialize and make friends with people her age.
"I didn’t go to school, so I didn’t develop good social skills when it came to interacting with people my age and making friends. I struggled a lot with that. I missed out on some things. But I tried to overcome it," the British actress explained.
In addition, growing up in front of the camera also made her experience online harassment, which led her to temporarily delete her social media accounts in 2022.
However, the Enola Holmes star now feels happy with her life. She lives on a farm with her husband, Jake Bongiovi, whom she married last year.
Millie also spoke about her emotions after wrapping up filming for the fifth season of Stranger Things.
Even though she usually doesn’t like crying at work, Millie admitted that the moment was very emotional for her.
"I was on set, and I thought, 'Alright, I still have one more day.' And then I started crying," she said.
"I don’t actually like crying at work. I’m a very emotional person, but I try to stay strong. It made me feel very uncomfortable, and I started crying," she added.
