SecondUpdate.com – Good news comes for K-Pop fans, especially the MY fandom. The girl group aespa is reportedly preparing for a comeback scheduled to be released in May 2026.
The information has been confirmed directly by their agency, SM Entertainment. On Friday (March 13), a representative from the agency stated that aespa is currently in the process of preparing a new album.
According to reports from South Korean media, the agency said that the members are focusing on preparing new music for the planned release in May.
The upcoming project is expected to be aespa’s second full-length album. Previously, the group released their first studio album, Armageddon.
This comeback will also mark their first release since the mini album Rich Man, which was released last September. That means there will be a gap of around nine months between their latest release and the upcoming comeback.
Fans are already looking forward to the new concept and musical style that aespa will present in the upcoming album.
The comeback plan comes amid aespa’s busy schedule throughout 2026. The group is currently also holding a world tour titled 2025–26 aespa LIVE TOUR – SYNK: aeXIS LINE.
The tour is scheduled to visit several countries, including Indonesia. aespa’s concert in Jakarta is planned to take place on April 4, 2026.
aespa first debuted on November 17, 2020 with the single Black Mamba. Since their debut, the group has been known for bringing a unique concept to the K-Pop industry.
They combine music with technology and a virtual universe concept. Each member has a digital avatar called “ae,” which is part of a storyline set in a virtual world known as Kwangya.
The group consists of four members: Karina, Winter, Giselle, and Ningning.
aespa’s popularity soared after releasing the hit song Next Level in 2021, which helped solidify their position in the K-Pop industry.
As of early 2026, aespa has established itself as one of the leading groups of the fourth generation of K-Pop, achieving numerous accomplishments on music charts and international stages.
Their comeback scheduled for May 2026 is expected to once again attract the attention of K-Pop fans around the world.
