SecondUpdate.com – Misfortune has once again struck South Korean artist Nana. Two months after becoming the victim of a robbery at her home, she is now facing a lawsuit filed by the very perpetrator of the crime.

The situation has drawn public attention, as it is widely considered illogical. Citing a report from the Korea JoongAng Daily Saturday edition (January 3), the robbery suspect who is currently undergoing trial, suddenly changed his testimony.

Initially, he admitted to breaking into Nana’s house while carrying a weapon. However, he later claimed that he was unarmed at the time of the incident.

Not stopping there, the suspect even filed a lawsuit against Nana, accusing her of attempted murder and aggravated assault. The lawsuit immediately triggered a strong response from Nana’s agency.

In response, Nana’s agency, Sublime, released an official statement emphasizing that previous investigations by authorities had clearly proven the suspect committed a criminal act.

The agency also stressed that during the incident, the perpetrator was armed and caused serious injuries to both Nana and her mother.

Despite this, the suspect showed no remorse and instead appeared to be exploiting Nana’s status as a public figure by filing a countersuit.

According to Korea JoongAng Daily, Nana and her agency had initially considered showing leniency due to the suspect’s young age.

The agency confirmed it will continue to closely monitor and pursue the case to its conclusion to ensure Nana does not suffer further losses, either legally or psychologically.

The robbery occurred on November 15 last year at around 6:00 a.m. at Nana’s residence in Guri, Gyeonggi Province.

The suspect entered the house carrying a weapon and threatened Nana and her mother, demanding money.

However, Nana did not remain passive. She fought back, leading to a physical struggle. Together with her mother, Nana managed to subdue the suspect and immediately contacted the police.

As a result of the incident, Nana sustained injuries, while her mother suffered more serious harm, including being strangled by the suspect and requiring hospital treatment. Meanwhile, the perpetrator also suffered a laceration to his jaw.

Shortly after the incident, police concluded that Nana’s actions were purely acts of self-defense.

This conclusion was based on Article 21, Paragraph 1 of the Korean Criminal Code, which states that self-defense is considered lawful when carried out to protect oneself or others from an imminent threat.

On that basis, police confirmed that no charges would be filed against Nana or her mother.
