SecondUpdate.com – Tensions between ADOR and Danielle, a former member of NewJeans, have once again surfaced.
After being officially removed from the group and having her contract terminated, Danielle is now facing a lawsuit filed by her former agency.
The lawsuit does not only target Danielle. One of her family members and Min Hee Jin, the former CEO of ADOR who was widely known as a key figure behind the formation of NewJeans, have also been named as defendants.
ADOR, a subsidiary of HYBE, is seeking massive compensation amounting to 43.1 billion won, or approximately Rp499 billion.
According to reports from Korean media, the lawsuit has been registered with Civil Division 31 of the Seoul Central District Court.
ADOR had previously signaled its intention to take legal action when it announced the termination of Danielle’s exclusive contract.
In its official statement, ADOR said the decision was made because continued cooperation with Danielle was no longer possible.
The agency also emphasized that it would seek legal accountability from parties deemed to have played significant roles in the internal conflict, including Min Hee Jin and Danielle’s family.
The issue stems from a prolonged dispute between ADOR and Min Hee Jin, the former CEO who played a major role in shaping NewJeans.
The conflict eventually led to Min Hee Jin’s removal from her position and triggered internal tensions within the agency.
In late November 2024, all five members of NewJeans shocked the public by announcing their demand for contract termination through a live broadcast.
Since then, the relationship between the group and the agency continued to deteriorate throughout 2025, both through media statements and legal proceedings.
The situation reached a peak on October 30, 2025, when the Seoul Central District Court ruled in favor of ADOR, affirming that the exclusive contracts between NewJeans and the agency remained legally valid.
The ruling briefly raised hopes among fans that NewJeans would return with a complete lineup.
Shortly afterward, ADOR confirmed that Haerin and Hyein had rejoined the agency on November 13.
Minji, Hanni, and Danielle also issued a joint statement saying they were willing to return to ADOR after lengthy discussions. However, as time passed, developments took a different turn.
Hanni eventually followed Haerin and Hyein in rejoining the agency, while Minji remains in intensive talks with ADOR.
Danielle, on the other hand, ultimately faced contract termination and is now dealing with a lawsuit worth hundreds of billions of rupiah.
