SecondUpdate.com – Top South Korean actor Hyun Bin is set to greet fans once again through his latest Korean drama, Made in Korea, which will premiere on Disney Plus Hotstar on December 24, 2025.

Ahead of its release, Hyun Bin, along with the cast and director Woo Min-ho, held an online press conference from Seoul on Monday (December 15). On the occasion, Hyun Bin shared interesting behind-the-scenes stories, particularly about the extreme physical transformation he underwent for his role as Baek Kitae.

Hyun Bin revealed that this time he deliberately gained around 13 to 14 kilograms, the complete opposite of his transformation while starring in the film Harbin, which was also directed by Woo Min-ho.

“When working on Harbin, Director Woo told me that he thought it would be better if I didn’t have too much muscle. So that’s what I did. For Harbin, I lost a lot of weight and muscle mass,” said the husband of actress Son Ye Jin.

However, the demands of his role in Made in Korea were very different. Baek Kitae is portrayed as a KCIA leader in the 1970s, a figure who holds immense power and strong influence.

According to Hyun Bin, the weight gain was a conscious decision to make his character appear more authoritative and dominant in every scene.

Interestingly, Hyun Bin admitted that the process of gaining weight this time was not too difficult. He even felt more relaxed since he did not have to go through a strict diet as he had in the past.

With the level of dedication once again shown by Hyun Bin, Made in Korea has become even more highly anticipated by fans, especially those who have long missed seeing the actor’s powerful performances on screen.
