Secondupdate.com – Marvel is set to release its latest series titled Ironheart on June 24, 2025, exclusively on Disney+. The series is based on the Marvel Comics character of the same name and is written by Chinaka Hodge.

According to IMDb, Ironheart is the 14th television series in the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU). It is produced by Marvel Studios through Marvel Television, in collaboration with Proximity Media.

Ironheart follows the journey of Riri Williams, a super-genius student from MIT. After the events of Black Panther: Wakanda Forever (2022), Riri returns to her hometown of Chicago.

There, she must face a major conflict between the worlds of advanced technology and magical powers. Dominique Thorne reprises her role as Riri Williams after her appearance in Wakanda Forever.

In addition to Thorne, the series stars Anthony Ramos, Lyric Ross, Alden Ehrenreich, Regan Aliyah, Manny Montana, Matthew Elam, and Anji White.

Anthony Ramos plays Parker Robbins, also known as The Hood, a mysterious character who wields dark magic. Robbins is depicted as coming from the tough neighborhood of Humboldt Park in Chicago and raised by his activist mother. His character is complex and becomes Riri’s main antagonist in the story.

The series will also explore Riri’s personal life, including her relationship with her mother Ronnie Williams (played by Anji White) and her best friend Natalie Washington (played by Lyric Ross).

Jim Rash also returns to portray the MIT dean, a role he previously played in Captain America: Civil War.

Several other actors including Shea CouleƩ, Harper Anthony, Zoe Terakes, and Sacha Baron Cohen will also appear, though their roles remain undisclosed.

Ironheart was first announced in December 2020, along with the casting of Dominique Thorne in the lead role. Chinaka Hodge joined as head writer in April 2021, and the rest of the main cast was revealed in February 2022.

Directors Sam Bailey and Angela Barnes were attached to the project in April 2022. Filming began at Trilith Studios in Atlanta in June, followed by additional shoots in Chicago from October to early November.

Ironheart will consist of six episodes, with the first three set to premiere simultaneously on launch day.

Interestingly, Ironheart will serve as the final series of Phase Five in the ongoing MCU storyline. It is expected to bring a fresh perspective to Marvel with its blend of cutting-edge technology and mystical elements.
