Secondupdate.com – Disney+ original K-drama Knock Off, which was initially scheduled to premiere in April, has been delayed due to controversy surrounding its lead actor, Kim Soo Hyun. This comes despite the drama being nearly finished with filming.

"After careful consideration, we have temporarily halted the release plans for Knock Off," the streaming company stated, as quoted in a Yonhap report on Friday (March 21).

The drama follows Kim Sung Joon (played by Kim Soo Hyun), an ordinary office worker whose life takes a drastic turn due to the 1997 Asian financial crisis (IMF crisis). He then transforms into a global king of the counterfeit goods market.

In addition to Kim Soo Hyun, the drama also stars Jo Bo Ah, who plays Song Hye Jung, Sung Joon's ex-girlfriend and a special court officer.

As one of the most anticipated series on Disney+ this year, Knock Off was expected to be a major hit. However, the controversy involving Kim Soo Hyun has cast uncertainty over its release schedule.

Previously, Kim Soo Hyun made headlines due to alleged past ties with the late Kim Sae Ron when the actress was still underage. This controversy appears to have influenced Disney+'s decision to postpone the drama’s release.
