Secondupdate.com – The Seoul Central District Court has issued a ruling on the lawsuit filed by ADOR against NJZ (formerly known as NewJeans) on Friday, March 21, 2025.

In the lawsuit, ADOR requested the court to prohibit all independent activities by the NJZ members, arguing that their contracts with the agency were still valid.

The court ruled that ADOR retains full management rights over NewJeans. This means that all entertainment industry activities of the members—including music performances, television appearances, and advertisement deals—must go through ADOR.

Additionally, the court rejected NJZ’s claim that ADOR had breached their contract. In its ruling, the judge stated that there was insufficient evidence to prove that ADOR had failed in its obligations as an agency.

Despite the unfavorable ruling, the NJZ members expressed their respect for the court’s decision. However, they also voiced disappointment, stating that the trust between them and ADOR had been broken.

NJZ plans to appeal the decision, with the appeal hearing scheduled for April 3, 2025.

“We believe this ruling does not fully consider the complete breakdown of trust between the members and ADOR. We will clarify that our contract with ADOR has legally ended in the appeal hearing on April 3,” NJZ stated.

Meanwhile, ADOR welcomed the court’s decision, considering it a validation that they remain the official management of NewJeans.

As the next step, ADOR announced that it would continue supporting NewJeans’ activities under its management. The group is scheduled to perform at ComplexCon this weekend as planned.
