SecondUpdate.com – South Korean actor Kim Soo Hyun is once again in the spotlight following the latest developments in the legal case involving his name.

Through his legal team, the actor is reportedly considering increasing the value of his lawsuit against the operator of the YouTube channel HoverLab to 30 billion won, or approximately Rp350 billion.

Previously, the lawsuit had been filed for 12 billion won. However, Kim Soo Hyun’s side believes that the damages resulting from the case have turned out to be far greater than initially estimated.

Kim Soo Hyun’s attorney, Ko Sang Rok, explained that his team is currently reviewing the amount of compensation being sought, along with the possibility of expanding the list of parties considered responsible in the case.

According to him, the impact of the circulating allegations has not only affected the actor’s personal reputation but has also disrupted several business partnerships that ultimately failed to materialize. The reported losses are said to amount to tens of billions of won.

The case resurfaced after Kim Se Ui, who is known as the operator of the YouTube channel HoverLab, was taken into custody by South Korean police.

He is suspected of spreading false information and presenting manipulated evidence.

One of the allegations that drew significant public attention involved claims linking Kim Soo Hyun to the late actress Kim Sae Ron.

In several pieces of content and public statements, accusations emerged regarding an alleged personal relationship between the two that was said to have lasted for several years.

However, based on the investigation findings, authorities discovered indications of digital manipulation in several materials that had been published.

Some screenshots of conversations were allegedly altered, including the identities of the participants and the message contents.

In addition, investigators reportedly found indications of the use of artificial intelligence technology to create voice recordings resembling certain individuals in order to strengthen the narrative being circulated.

These findings became one of the bases for authorities to take legal action against those involved.

Kim Soo Hyun’s legal representatives argued that this case goes beyond ordinary rumor-spreading. They described the actions as a structured effort that allegedly exploited the popularity of a public figure for certain gains.

At present, the public is still waiting to see whether the lawsuit will officially be increased to 30 billion won.

If implemented, the case could become one of the largest defamation disputes involving a South Korean celebrity in recent years.
