Extreme Transformation of Kim Da Mi, From an Obedient Wife to a Mysterious Killer

SecondUpdate.com – News of South Korean actress Kim Da Mi potentially making a comeback has once again captured the attention of drama fans.

She is reportedly considering an offer to star in a new drama titled The Obedient Killer (literal title), which presents a unique story set in the 1970s–1980s.

The drama tells the story of a woman whose life goal has always been to become a devoted wife and mother. However, her life takes a drastic turn after a divorce. In order to survive and secure a future for her child, she takes a job at a suspicious company that claims to support women entering the workforce.

At her new workplace, the main character discovers an unexpected ability within herself. The woman, once known for being quiet and unremarkable, turns out to possess a chilling talent, the ability to “eliminate” someone without leaving a trace. 

This premise suggests that The Obedient Killer will deliver a story filled with tension and complex emotions.

Kim Da Mi has reportedly been offered the role of Go Dal Boon, a former obedient wife who tries to rebuild her life in order to reunite with her young daughter. The role is considered challenging, as it requires a transformation from a seemingly weak figure into a strong and mysterious woman.

Responding to the reports, her agency stated that the project is still under review. This means there has been no official confirmation on whether Kim Da Mi will accept the role.

If produced, the drama will be handled by an experienced creative team. Writer Kang Eun Kyung, known for Dr. Romantic and Gyeongseong Creature, will collaborate with writer Joo Hwa Mi of The Atypical Family. The series will be directed by Lee Jung Heum.

Previously, Kim Da Mi starred in several projects in 2025, including Nine Puzzles and A Hundred Memories. With her strong acting track record, many fans are hoping she will accept this project.

If realized, The Obedient Killer has the potential to become one of the most highly anticipated Korean dramas, as it combines elements of thriller, life drama, and an unconventional character journey.
