SecondUpdate.com – Member of 2NE1, Sandara Park has finally spoken out regarding allegations of drug use that were previously raised by her fellow group member, Park Bom.
Dara, Sandara’s well-known nickname, firmly stated that she has never used drugs.
The clarification was delivered through her Instagram Story on Wednesday (March 4). In the post, Sandara wrote a brief statement in both Korean and English in response to the circulating issue.
Her statement came after Park Bom uploaded a handwritten letter on social media on Tuesday (March 3). In the letter, Park Bom once again brought up the old controversy involving a medication called Adderall that had previously put her in the spotlight.
Park Bom explained that the medication was used to treat Attention Deficit Disorder (ADD). She also emphasized that Adderall is not a narcotic.
In the same letter, Park Bom also mentioned Sandara Park by name. She accused her fellow member of being involved in a drug case and claimed that she herself had been made a scapegoat to cover up the issue.
Additionally, Park Bom asked several parties to stop spreading information suggesting that she is dependent on drugs. She mentioned several names, including their former agency YG Entertainment and its founder Yang Hyun-suk. She also referred to producer Teddy Park and another 2NE1 member, CL (Lee Chae-rin).
Park Bom insisted that she has never taken medication beyond the dosage prescribed by a doctor.
For context, the Adderall controversy first surfaced in 2010. At that time, Park Bom drew public attention after importing the medication via international mail without declaring it to customs and without approval from the relevant authorities.
However, after an investigation, prosecutors decided to suspend the indictment after confirming that the medication had indeed been prescribed by a doctor for medical treatment.
Meanwhile, since August 2025, Park Bom has temporarily halted her activities in the entertainment industry. Her agency, D-Nation Entertainment, stated that the decision was made after medical staff advised her to take a break to maintain her health.
The issue has once again drawn public attention as it involves two members of the legendary K-pop group 2NE1, which is widely known for its significant influence on the South Korean music industry.
