SecondUpdate.com – Good news has arrived for K-pop fans, especially supporters of I.O.I.

The legendary girl group formed through the survival show Produce 101 has been confirmed to make a comeback in May 2026 to celebrate the 10th anniversary of their debut.

The information was officially announced by SWING Entertainment, which will once again manage the group’s activities for this special project. The members are currently said to be preparing a new album to welcome this meaningful moment.

I.O.I first debuted in 2016 with an 11-member lineup chosen through audience voting on Produce 101. Despite being active for only around eight months, the group managed to capture public attention and became one of the most influential girl groups of their time.

The members of I.O.I consist of Jeon Somi, Kim Sejeong, Choi Yoo-jung, Chungha, Kim So-hye, Zhou Jieqiong, Kim Doyeon, Kang Mina, Lim Nayoung, and Yoo Yeonjung.

After completing their promotional period, I.O.I officially disbanded in January 2017. Since then, each member has pursued different career paths, ranging from solo singers and actresses to members of other groups.

Although they have been apart for a long time, the members have often expressed their desire to perform together again. In various interviews and programs, they frequently talked about plans for a reunion, even though it had never fully materialized.

Now, that long-awaited dream has finally come true. Their comeback in 2026 will be both a nostalgic moment and a celebration of a decade-long journey in the Korean entertainment industry.

Unfortunately, this reunion will only include nine members. Zhou Jieqiong and Kang Mina are reportedly unable to participate due to previously scheduled activities.

In addition to releasing a new album, I.O.I is also scheduled to hold a concert in Seoul as the opening event of their 10th anniversary celebrations. After that, the group plans to continue with an Asian concert tour.

However, the management has not yet officially announced the list of countries to be visited or the full tour schedule.

The comeback news has been warmly welcomed by longtime fans. Many have expressed how much they miss seeing I.O.I together on stage after being apart for nearly a decade.

For fans, this project is not just an ordinary comeback, but an emotional moment to remember the group’s journey as one of the biggest phenomena of its era.

With the preparation of a new album and concert plans, I.O.I’s comeback in May 2026 is predicted to become one of the most historic moments in the K-pop world next year.
