SecondUpdate.com – Kim Hye Yoon’s name has been shining even brighter since she starred in the Korean drama Lovely Runner, which aired in 2024.
Her role in the series successfully captured public attention and caused her popularity to soar. Even so, the actress did not immediately capitalize on the momentum by accepting numerous drama offers.
Instead, Kim Hye Yoon chose to be more selective in deciding on her next project. She admitted that she felt some concern, as the success of Lovely Runner raised audience expectations of her to a very high level. Therefore, she wanted to make sure her comeback project was truly the right choice.
After careful consideration, Kim Hye Yoon finally returned to the small screen through her latest drama, No Tail to Tell, which officially premiered on January 16, 2026. This drama marks her first project since Lovely Runner.
At a press conference held in Seoul, South Korea, Kim Hye Yoon revealed the main reason she chose No Tail to Tell. She said she was drawn to the project because the character offered was very different from any roles she had played before.
In the drama, Kim Hye Yoon portrays Eunho, a gumiho—or nine-tailed fox spirit—who is depicted as a unique, modern, and vibrant character. Unlike the typical portrayal of a gumiho, Eunho actually refuses to become human and enjoys her life as a mythological being.
Kim Hye Yoon believes that the character of Eunho helps her step out of the shadow of her previous role as Sol in Lovely Runner. Eunho is described as bold, flamboyant, and highly confident, standing in stark contrast to the characters she has played in the past.
No Tail to Tell itself tells the story of Eunho’s encounter with Kang Si Yeol, a famous soccer player portrayed by Park Solomon. Eunho’s life begins to change when an unexpected incident causes her to lose her powers and forces her to live as an ordinary human.
With its unique storyline and unconventional characters, No Tail to Tell is considered a bold yet well-calculated comeback step for Kim Hye Yoon.
