Black Metal (Dok. Ist)

Secondupdate.com – Black Metal is a subgenre of heavy metal music that combines elements of thrash and death metal. This musical style first emerged through the English band Venom in 1982.

Venom had a significant influence on the rise of Black Metal, particularly through their song titled "Black Metal." This song is considered the starting point of the subgenre’s birth.

Over time, Black Metal continued to evolve, giving rise to new branches. One such branch is Folk Black Metal, pioneered by the Swedish band Bathory, who are recognized as the first to develop this musical style.

Folk Black Metal differs from early Black Metal, which typically focuses on dark and unconventional themes. Instead, Folk Black Metal brings themes rooted in culture, such as mythology, history, and local folklore.

An example is Arkona, a Russian folk metal band heavily inspired by Slavic mythology and folklore. However, despite the similar themes, Arkona is not classified as folk black metal due to differences in their musical style.
