SecondUpdate.com – Legendary singer Billy Joel has officially canceled all of his scheduled tour dates after being diagnosed with a rare brain disorder called normal pressure hydrocephalus (NPH).
This condition causes a buildup of fluid in the brain that can affect cognitive ability, balance, as well as vision and hearing.
According to Music News on Sunday, the 76-year-old Billy was initially scheduled to tour under the title “In Concert” through 2026.
The tour was planned to span several countries, including the United States, Canada, the United Kingdom, and Scotland, featuring performances alongside renowned musicians such as Rod Stewart, Sting, and Stevie Nicks.
However, the entire tour has now been canceled so that Billy can focus on his health recovery.
In an Instagram post, the “Uptown Girl” singer expressed his apologies to fans.
"I’m deeply sorry to disappoint our audience, and thank you for your understanding," Billy wrote.
In an official statement, Billy Joel’s team explained that his condition has worsened due to the recent demanding concert schedule.
He has been experiencing hearing and vision problems, as well as issues with physical balance.
Billy is currently undergoing specialized physical therapy and has been advised by his medical team to take a break from all stage activities.
"Billy is extremely grateful for the exceptional medical care he has received and now wishes to fully focus on his recovery," the statement continued.
Fans who have already purchased concert tickets will receive full refunds according to their original method of purchase.
