Secondupdate.com – Actor Brad Pitt is set to reunite with director Edward Berger for a new film titled The Riders, which will be produced by A24. The news was reported by The Hollywood Reporter on Tuesday.
The Riders is an adaptation of the novel of the same name by Tim Winton. The novel was shortlisted for the Booker Prize in 1995.
The story follows a man who embarks on a journey across Europe with his daughter in search of his wife, who has mysteriously disappeared.
Screenwriter David Kajganich will adapt the novel into a screenplay. The film will also be produced by Ridley Scott through his production company, Scott Free, alongside Michael Pruss.
Kajganich is also serving as a producer, joining Edward Berger’s team and Brad Pitt’s production team—Jeremy Kleiner and Dede Gardner of Plan B Entertainment.
The film is scheduled to begin filming in early 2026, with various locations across Europe being used.
Brad Pitt was last seen in the film Wolfs, starring opposite George Clooney.
Up next, he will appear in a Formula 1-themed movie produced by Apple, in which he plays Sonny Hayes, a veteran driver who comes out of retirement to mentor a young racer named Joshua Pearce (played by Damson Idris) from the fictional team APXGP.
Meanwhile, Edward Berger is currently one of the most sought-after directors in Hollywood. His most recent works include Conclave, a film set in the Vatican, and he just wrapped up the mystery project The Ballad of a Small Player for Netflix.
