Hearts2Hearts Officially Debuts: SM Entertainment's New Girl Group with an International Touch

Secondupdate.com – SM Entertainment’s latest K-pop girl group, Hearts2Hearts, has officially debuted with the release of their first single album, "The Chase". The eight-member group held a media showcase just hours before their official debut at YES24 Live Hall, Seoul, on Monday (Feb 24).

An Internationally Diverse Group

Hearts2Hearts brings an international touch with members from various backgrounds. Among them is Carmen, who hails from Indonesia, and Stella, a Korean-Canadian citizen.

"We have been waiting for this moment for so long, so I feel very happy and excited," said Carmen during the debut event, as reported by Yonhap on Monday (Feb 24).

Meanwhile, Jiwoo, the group’s leader, still finds it hard to believe that they have finally debuted. "We will continue to work hard just as we did today," she added.

The Meaning Behind the Name "Hearts2Hearts" and Fandom "2SU"

Yuha explained that all the members instantly liked the name Hearts2Hearts when they first heard it.

"We all loved it because we felt that the name, which means ‘connecting from heart to heart,’ truly represents our goal of communicating with fans through music that conveys our true emotions," she said.

The group also announced their official fandom name, "2SU", pronounced as "ha-chu". The name comes from the combination of the letters "2S", which resemble the shape of a heart, and "U", symbolizing the fans' role as the core of Hearts2Hearts.

Carmen shared her debut journey, recalling how she used to watch K-pop idols on TV and has now found herself standing on stage as one of them.

Hearts2Hearts' debut album, "The Chase", features two songs: the title track "The Chase" and the B-side "Butterflies".

The members described their title track as a fun and uplifting song inspired by the classic "Alice in Wonderland" by Lewis Carroll, capturing a dreamy and mysterious atmosphere.

A Special Debut Coinciding with SM Entertainment’s 30th Anniversary

Interestingly, Hearts2Hearts' debut coincides with the 30th anniversary of SM Entertainment.

With this debut, Hearts2Hearts becomes the first SM girl group in 18 years to have more than five members since Girls’ Generation. Their arrival in the K-pop industry is highly anticipated by fans worldwide.
